Why Invest in Golden Opportunities Fund

Save Tax

As long as you have taxable income and CRA collects federal and Saskatchewan income taxes from you, Golden Opportunities Fund tax credits will be of benefit to you.

What You Need To Know

You can purchase Golden Opportunities Fund as an RRSP, LIRA (locked in assets) or a personal non-RRSP account, but not in a Tax-Free Savings Account.

Your investment in Golden Opportunities Fund is completely liquid, you can redeem at any time, however, if you redeem within 8 years of purchasing the Fund works like a typical mutual fund and you will have to repay the additional 32.5% tax credits you received when you purchased. The amount of these tax credits will be withheld from proceeds of any early redemption.

You have options when your investment matures after 8 years:

  • Rollover/re-invest for an additional 32.5% in tax credits with no new money invested which will restart the 8-year maturity period.
  • Leave your money invested in Golden Opportunities Fund’s portfolio of local companies.
  • Redeem and transfer to another investment.
  • Redeem the proceeds and spend the money, note that if you take your money out of your RRSP there will be tax implications.

Golden Opportunities Fund is a Retail Venture Capital (RVC) Fund investment. RVCs are not guaranteed, their values change frequently, and past performance may not be repeated.
